Turn your idle tools into steady income
Tooleo is a peer-to-peer tool rental marketplace. We connect tool owners—we call them hosts—with homeowners and DIYers who need the tools and equipment for a project. List your tools, set your schedule, and get paid when your gear gets used.
List your tools and equipmentWhy list your tools on Tooleo?
List your tools and equipment1. Help your neighbors get the job done
Most people only need a pressure washer, floor sander, or tile saw once or twice a year. By sharing yours, you're helping someone in your area finish a project without overbuying—and building a more connected neighborhood in the process.
2. Earn from what you already own
Your tools have already been paid for. Put them to work when you're not using them. Active hosts can make $2,000 per year or more renting their tools.
3. Free to list, simple to run
Creating a listing is free. You're only charged when a rental completes. We take a platform fee on each rental—you keep the rest. No storefront, no invoices, no chasing payment.
Your tools are protected
When you list on Tooleo, you're not just handing keys to a stranger. We've built multiple layers of protection into every rental.
List your tools & equipment1. Renters are responsible
Before renting, every renter signs our rental agreement accepting responsibility for any damage or loss beyond normal wear and tear.
2. Renters are verified
We require renters to submit a government-issued ID and complete a face scan to confirm identity. We screen out bad actors before they ever reach your listing.
3. You control who rents from you
Every rental starts with a request. Review the renter's profile, check your calendar, and approve or decline—entirely on your terms.
4. Tooleo has your back
If something goes wrong and the renter doesn't make it right, Tooleo provides up to $1,000 in coverage for your tool in cases of damage, loss, or theft.
"Hosting my tools on Tooleo has been rewarding, fun, and I've made some spending money. I’ve met a bunch of neighbors I didn't know. It's very satisfying helping them get their projects done." Nathan H. (Tooleo Host)

Host frequently asked questions (FAQ)
- Why become a host on Tooleo? Your tools are already paid for. Hosting lets you offset the original cost, recover storage space mentally, and help people in your area tackle real projects. Most hosts find it low-effort once they have a rhythm.
- Will my tools see wear and tear? Normal wear, minor scuffs, general use — is expected and fair. Anything beyond that is the renter's responsibility under the rental agreement. If a tool is too valuable or sentimental to risk, don't list it. List the tools you're comfortable putting to work.
- What if there's damage beyond normal wear? The renter is financially responsible for damage beyond normal use—they agree to this at booking. If a renter doesn't pay up, Tooleo's $1,000 host protection covers the gap as a last resort.
- How do I pause or remove a listing? If you decide to stop hosting a tool, log in to your account, click on "Your Tools", click on the three dots (elipses) and select "Close Listing". Your listing will be closed from Tooleo. You can always turn your listing back on.
