The Tooleo Promise

When you use Tooleo, you're joining a community of homeowners, DIYers, and tool owners who share one goal: to make every rental straightforward, fair, and worth repeating—for hosts and renters alike. Please read and understand your commitments before renting or listing.

The Renter Promise

When you rent on Tooleo, you agree to the following:

  • You have read and agree to the Tooleo Rental Agreement. Understand your responsibilities before you book.
  • Before your first rental, complete identity verification by uploading a government-issued ID and completing a face scan. Do your ID check
  • Treat the tool like it's yours. Return it in the same condition you received it—clean, intact, and ready for the next person.
  • You are responsible for the tool during your rental period. This includes any damage beyond normal wear, repair costs, or replacement if the tool is lost, stolen, or significantly damaged.
  • Use tools safely and within your competence. If you're not confident operating a piece of equipment, don't rent it. Read the manual. Watch a tutorial. Ask the host.
  • Keep the tool secure. Don't leave rented equipment unattended in an unlocked vehicle or unsecured location.
  • Communicate promptly. If something goes wrong—damage, a mechanical issue, a scheduling change—contact the host immediately through the Tooleo platform.
  • Be honest. Accurate communication protects everyone and keeps the community worth being part of.

The Host Promise

When you list on Tooleo, you agree to the following:

  • You have read and agree to the Tooleo Rental Agreement. Understand your responsibilities as a host before your first rental.
  • Only list tools that are in good working condition. Equipment should be clean, functional, and safe to operate. Don't list something you wouldn't hand to a friend.
  • Describe your tools accurately. Include clear photos from multiple angles, honest notes on condition, and any limitations or quirks a renter should know about.
  • Brief the renter at handoff. Walk them through how to operate the tool safely, especially if it requires technique or has specific handling requirements.
  • Set clear expectations upfront. Fuel state on return? Cleaning required? Any off-limits uses? Spell it out in your listing—don't leave renters guessing.
  • Be responsive. Reply to rental requests and renter messages promptly. Slow or absent communication creates friction and erodes trust.
  • Be honest. If your tool develops an issue, update your listing. Accurate information is the foundation of every good rental.
