Create your listings on Tooleo

Creating a great listing on Tooleo is key to getting lots of rentals. We've created a way for you to use AI to save time and create listings that will bring you more renters. Even if you haven't used AI before, it's simple and we have instructions below. Expect 5-10 minutes per listing.

Four easy steps to get started:

  1. Take 3-4 good photos of each tool
  2. Use our AI listing tool to select a category, draft a great title & description, and select a price
  3. Create and publish your listings
  4. Set up your payment account via Stripe

Step 1: Take 3-4 good photos

  1. Photograph the full tool from different angles — don't crop out the brand name or model label
  2. Include at least one close up photo of the make and model of the tool, if possible.
  3. Select a neutral background — the concrete floor, a blank wall, a landscape, a sheet if needed.
  4. Use natural light if you can; avoid dark garages or harsh shadows
  5. Include any key accessories in the frame if they're part of the rental

Step 2: Use our AI listing tool to select a category, draft a great title & description, and select a price

  1. Download the AI context document below.
  2. Open any AI assistant: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar. We recommend Google Gemini — it's free to use without an account.
  3. Upload both the document and the photos of your tool. Hit return — no additional context needed.
  4. The AI will identify your tool, ask you a few questions, select the category, draft a ready-to-paste title and description, and suggest a price. Done!

  1. Go to the create your listing page
  2. Select the category as specified
  3. Copy and paste the title and description into the listing
  4. Select location, price and upload your photos

Step 4. Set up your payment account via Stripe

You only have to do this one time, just for the first tool you list. This will show up automatically after you draft your first listing. Or you can go here.

We use Stripe, a global payment processor, to process payments. You simply connect your bank account via Stripe to Tooleo (the process is highly secure--Tooleo doesn't have access to your bank details--it's just like setting up Venmo or Paypal).

After your Stripe account is set up, the money you make from renting tools gets automatically deposited into your bank account. Easy peasy!
