Guidelines for listings and profiles on Tooleo

To create the best possible experience for everyone on Tooleo, we've put together this set of guidelines for profiles and listings. Following these guidelines helps ensure that every rental is trustworthy, predictable, and worth repeating—for hosts and renters alike.

Part 1: Profile Guidelines

Your profile is your identity on Tooleo. It's how hosts and renters evaluate each other before agreeing to a rental. A complete, honest profile builds trust and leads to more successful transactions.

Tooleo users are expected to adhere to the following:

  • Use your true identity and represent yourself honestly in your profile and in all communications with other users.
  • Present yourself respectfully. Your profile is how the community gets to know you.
  • Maintain one profile per person. Multiple accounts are not permitted.
  • Don't create profiles designed to impersonate someone else.
  • Don't use a disposable or throwaway email address. This signals bad intent and may be treated as fraudulent behavior.
  • Don't use emulators or third-party tools to post listings. You must be the actual owner of any item you list.

Part 2: Listing Guidelines

Your listing is how renters decide whether to book your tool. Accurate, detailed listings reduce friction, prevent disputes, and lead to better rentals for everyone.

Titles, Descriptions, and Prices

  • Listings must provide enough detail for renters to understand what they're renting—tool type, brand, model, condition, age, and any relevant specifications.
  • Don't include links to external websites or post URLs in your listing.
  • Don't include personal contact information such as a phone number or email address. All communication should happen through Tooleo.
  • Don't add irrelevant keywords or manipulate pricing to game search results.

Listing Photos

Clear, honest photos are one of the most important parts of a listing. Hosts are expected to follow these standards:

  • Always include at least one photo of the actual tool. Listings with no photo—or photos containing only text—are not allowed.
  • Use high-quality, well-lit photos that accurately represent the tool's condition.
  • Don't add stickers, overlays, or extra text to photos.
  • Don't include phone numbers or email addresses in photos.
  • Post photos of your actual tool, not stock images or catalog photos.
  • Use only photos you own. Don't use images that infringe on the intellectual property rights of others.

Item Location

List a general geographic location that is close to—but not exactly—your residential address. This allows nearby renters to find your listing and arrange pickup without exposing your precise home location publicly.

Prohibited Items

Most tools are welcome on Tooleo, but certain items are not permitted—including anything that presents safety concerns, legal issues, or is otherwise out of step with the spirit of the platform. When in doubt, contact us before listing.

Part 3: Enforcement and Community Standards

Non-Compliance

Tooleo may remove listings that violate any of our guidelines, policies, or Terms of Service, and may suspend or terminate any user account at our sole discretion.

Maintaining a Safe Marketplace

We work hard to keep Tooleo a trustworthy place to rent and list. Here's how we approach safety and enforcement:

  • We remove listings and take action on accounts that violate our policies.
  • We cooperate with law enforcement when appropriate.
  • We continuously improve our platform features to create a more reliable, transparent marketplace experience.
